I'm asking because I want some too.

I gave up on the series early on into SM and only have started to come back now, playing the hack for the first time now and am currently at Cinnabar, for this playthrough I did normal/min grinding/mono bug team. I'm sure it was talked about constantly when it was new but I actually am curious what people's thoughts are on it.

Pros:
>Difficulty is pretty good, I had a few fights wall me for quite a bit but nothing has felt remotely insurmountable and I was left pretty satisfied clearing fights even if they took a few tries.
>General stat and moveset buffs seem to be generally well done, have had numerous different team members I would swap between as at no point have I felt like I found a team that just can handle the current fight no matter what with no issue
>Customization is amazing. Being able to turn off EVs and swap natures around is fun but I think the game changer to me was being able to alter a moveset at any time outside of battle. Maybe the most fun I've ever had with the series' gameplay has been trying out different compositions of teams and movesets and getting that one strategy that finally beats a boss I was stuck on. I really wish this was a normal thing the series just did, I can't think of why it shouldn't.
>lot of QoL stuff is nice and makes exploration more fun. HM requiring only badges, fly mapped to L, and auto run are great features but I think the serious game changer to me is being able to alter a moveset at any time outside of battle. I actually love this and have had a lot of fun trying out new coverage options or set ups, I absolutely love this and wish the series allowed this since day 1
>exploration is pretty fun, exploring every dungeon has felt worthwhile and the game's progression feels pretty natural
>trainer composition is strong, I think the game strikes a nice balance between mandatory trainers with a thought out team and random trash with whatever mons just for experience if you're playing a more typical casual playthrough

Because gen 3 romhacks that don't play like gen 3 are for gays.

Damage split? Hidden abilities? Fairy type? Megas? Z-moves? Regional formes? Pokemon after the first 386? Get all that sh*t outta here.

Thats six (6) fricking back to back boss fights, not including Marowak, with little to no content opened up until you beat them. Saffron has no grass or wild pokemon and the surrounding areas have already been unlocked. Second playthrough I tried to skip it to go catch pokemon because you can Silph Scope out Marowaks mother and Pokeflute Snorlax before Silp Co. but then, surprise surprise, a fricking invisible wall stops you and says "I should beat Erika and Sabrina" because God forbid we go out of order to go catch some pokemon and test out the team.
But wait, then I got to Fuschia City only to get ambushed by Brendan at Safari Zone and find out that the Gym is closed until I rematch Brock - Erika. This isn't gameplay its artificially making the game longer by making me fly back to 4 locations, swap out 2-3 mons, and redo sh*t I don't care about.
Oh, and VS. Seeker is "Banned huur duur amulet coin+VS Seeker is overpowerd" but then the game openly lets you gen your mons at the Pokecenter for free. So frick taking a break to go rematch/test against some of the actually interesting fights like all of Routes 13-15 or the double battles. So it's just Showdown with extra, sh*tty steps.
Radical Red was made by an autistic moron with no concept of game design. I never drop it because its hard, I drop it because I hate the game.
